The Essence of the Message

What is the essence of Adventist truth? How should Adventist Christians relate to the world around them?

I recently took some time to do some listening to some presentations that were made in late 2012. The presenters names are David Asscherick and Jeffrey Rosario, and the series of six presentations is titled “Mere Adventism.” In my opinion, these presentations were amazingly beautiful in their simplicity and depth. If you are an Adventist Christian, I highly recommend that you take the time to listen to these presentations, as I believe the points these presenters make from the Bible, history, and the writings of Ellen White and other Christian authors are vital to the continuation of healthy and Christ focused Adventism.

The Issues Related to Adventist Truth

In these seminars the presenters take time to discuss topics and issues such as the following:

  • The motivating principles of God’s kingdom and Satan’s kingdom (“give give” vs. “get get”)
  • How we as Adventists should relate to the world around us
  • The “pillars” of Adventism –  the beliefs that are essential to being Adventist
  • The principal of “sola scriptura” – the Bible alone as the foundation for Adventist truth
  • How we can relate to non-Adventist literature, art, etc.
  • The Three Angel’s Messages and how they should be seen as especially beautiful and relevant for the world and time in which we live

The Seminars

Let me encourage you to take some time to listen through this six-part series. Yes, it is a significant investment of probably at least 6 hours of your time. But it was highly worthwhile, in my experience! Check out the links below to access the episodes.

May you be blessed as you listen to these presentations and allow God to guide your understanding through the Bible and His Holy Spirit!
